SEN: Sensory Spaces
Sensory spaces comfort and support children with Sensory Processing Disorder, as well as enhance early childhood development. Limits to budget, room, and guidance make it overwhelming and difficult for caregivers to create successful sensory spaces, which leads to over-stimulating clutter and unmet needs.
SEN is a customizable storage system for calming and engaging sensory spaces. It is designed with stackable modules to organize and conceal distracting stimuli and interactive surfaces to promote sensory play, adapting to individual needs.
This was developed during spring of 2020 as my senior capstone project at Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design.
The project was also shortlisted in the
2020 Global Design Graduate Show, an international competition launched by ARTSTHREAD and i-D.
